Every comparison page on the internet claims its author wins every row. Here is where this one does not.
Contacts and interview rounds
Huntr tracks the people and the rounds, not just the application. We have neither yet — no contacts list, and no record of each round inside the interviewing stage. If your search runs on referrals and multi-stage interviews, that gap is real and you should weigh it.

Your inbox moves the board
Connect a mailbox and Career Rift reads the replies — rejections, interview invites, offers — works out what each one means, and moves the application for you. Clear cases apply on their own; anything uncertain becomes a suggestion you accept or dismiss. The other trackers in this category, including the one on this page, expect you to notice the email and drag the card yourself.
The cover letter shows its work
Each paragraph comes with a note on why it is there and which part of your profile backs it, shown beside the text as you read. That guards against the failure that matters — not a bad letter, but a convincing one that claims something you never did. Tone, length and your own notes steer it.
Built for coaches too, not just one person
One workspace holds several profiles, each with its own access, so a career coach or an agency can run several searches without everyone seeing everything. Admins see every profile in the workspace; agents see only the ones they are granted.
Drive it from your AI assistant
Career Rift ships an MCP server, so you can ask an AI assistant what you applied to this week, add a job, or generate interview prep without opening the app. MCP is an open standard with a growing list of clients — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others — so it is not tied to one vendor. We have not found another job tracker that publishes one.

Does Career Rift track contacts like Huntr does?
Not yet. There is no contacts list today. You can keep notes on each application, but if networking is the centre of your search, Huntr covers that and we do not.
Can I import my Huntr board?
Email our team and we will help you move it across. A direct import is not built yet, and we would rather do it with you than leave you to re-enter a whole board by hand. Meanwhile the extension adds a job in a couple of clicks, and CSV export out of Career Rift works today.
